                Land Management

2. Admission criteria to the programme:

                According to the enrollment regulations of the Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City

3. Objectives

3.1 The general objective:

               The general objective of the Land Management (LM) is to provide human resources who have had comprehensive quality, being loyal to the country, having basic and specialized knowledge to match professional requirements in land management. In addition, learners can apply competently and flexibly relevant scientific and technological achievements, have soft skills, professional ethics, positive attitude, adapt to the period of industrial development 4.0, ensure the Programme Learning Outcomes of NLU – Ho Chi Minh City and the development demands of the country and regional integration.

3.2. Program Objectives:

               Based on the established general objective, the LM learning programme at the university level will equip learners with the following specific goals (abbreviated as PO):

 

               PO1: Equip general nature - society knowledge, basic knowledge of industry and specialized knowledge, social responsibility according to current regulations to students .
               PO2: Equip sufficiently theoretical and practical specialized knowledge to students in the legal, economic, technique and technological in LM

               PO3: Equip the ability to concretize legal regulations in land management, to analyze, evaluate and build investment planning projects, well apply technical technologies in land management for students aiming to ensure professional implement contents of administrative land management in accordance with the trend of development and integration
               PO4: Practice proficiently soft skills to solve effectively relevant professional requirements improving qualifications, cultivate professional ethics, positive attitude to life in global society, sense of organization, discipline and civic responsibility
               PO5: Develop problem-solving and cognitive thinking, ability to self-study and lifelong learning

4. Programe Learning outcomes: 

               After completing the training program of LM major at university level, learners must meet the following minimum capacity requirements:

A. KNOWLEDGE:

               Based on the minimum requirements of knowledge that learners must achieve after graduation, the LM programme at the university level concretizes the knowledge into Programme Learning Outcomes – abbreviated as ‘PLOs’ with 2 parts as follows:

+ General knowledges

               PLO 1: Show basic knowledge of national strategies and policies, good health, and knowledge of defense education to meet the requirements of national construction and defense.
               PLO 2: Apply knowledge of general law, natural science and social science in land management

+ Professional knowledge

               PLO 3: Apply knowledges of legal policy in land management.
               PLO 4: Apply technological knowledges in surveying, monitoring, mapping, database... in land management.
               PLO 5: Apply planning knowledges in land management.
               PLO 6: Apply economic knowledge in the field of land management

 

B. SKILL

       + Generic skills

 

               PLO 7: Use foreign languages (English) and information technology to develop expertise in land management and relevant fields.
               PLO 8: Lead, make decisions, work independently and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in academic and professional practice.

       + Professional skills

               PLO 9: Concretize relevant regulations and policies in land management in various forms, apply modern technical means and effectively use information in land management.
               PLO 10: Survey and establish all kinds of maps, build, manage and exploit land databases, make blueprints, drawings and technical design documents, starting a business in land management and other relevant fields.

C. ATTITUDE

               PLO 11. Respect and protect professional ethical values, have senses and responsibility for society, demonstrate self-control, take responsibility, and be willing to learn to improve qualifications.
               PLO 12: Show the ability to self-study and lifelong learning, comply with legal regulations, be professional at work, cooperate for the development of the land management industry and the community.

6. Job opportunities

               The training program of the fields in Land Management equips graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to be able to work in state management agencies, companies, enterprises, schools, research institutes and Non-governmental organizations with different positions such as:
               (1) State officials and employees in the system of agencies of Natural Resources and Environment, and Land Management at all levels from central to local levels (Ministries, Departments, Divisions, wards/communes) in terms of Cadastral - Construction - Urban- rural- agriculture and other relevant agencies.
               (2) Researchers, lecturers
               (3) Real estate investment and business consultants
               (4) Experts in the field of surveying and cartography, management-construction-operation of land databases, construction, cadastral – urban…
               (5) Officers working in the field of land management and related majors for projects.
               (6) Officials working in related fields (IT companies, banks, credit institutions, financial institutions, real estate investment and trading companies, real estate trading floors, real estate appraisal companies, NGO etc.).
               (7) Coordinators of programs and projects in managing land and other related resources
Job profile:

               Graduates must reach 12 PLOs of BLM learning program. They have enough necessary knowledge (general, basic and professional), skills and attitudes to be able to work in:
               a) Land administration (applying and concretizing land policies in land and real estate registration for agencies in public and private sectors
               b) Cadastral technology ( surveying and mapping, digital transformation, land database, applying high techniques (GIS, RS, webgis…) serving for cadastral, urban or land management with the public and private sectors . This trend is easy to go far in -depth study in higher education levels and conveniently integrate international (working for foreign companies and international organizations)
               c) Planning ( land use, urban, general social-economic) for agencies in public and private sectors
               d) Land economic (valuation, analysis, building real estate projects…) serving for valuation department (banks, agencies), start up, real estate companies…

               Graduates can combine all of BLM knowledge with their skills and attitudes as requirements of BLM learning program to ensure they can get a good job and a success business in LM adapting changes of social-economic-technical trend and development in the context global and regional integration.
